TECHLINK International has unveiled the latest addition to its market leading portfolio of HDMI switching devices – the HD3110 and HD5110. These fully automatic , manual or remote control input switching devices are fully compliant with the new V1.3 HDMI standard. This gives retailers genuine USPs, including Deep Colour and Auto-Lip-Sync features, to ensure their customers can enjoy new features of the HDMI format now and into the future.

The Switch2 HD3110 and HD5110 are fully compatible with HDCP copy protection and HD video formats up to the 1080p maximum. These active devices use built-in repeater/equaliser circuits to ensure maximum cable lengths can be achieved both from source to switch and switch to display. Automatic HPD (Hot Plug Detect) switching mode can be enabled to allow the HD3110 and HD 5110 to be placed out of sight for seamless custom installation. These lossless switches have been engineered for the highest audio and video performance and include gold-plated HDMI connectors for the best electrical connection.

TECHLINK International continues to push the boundaries of HDMI technology with a range of cables that double or even triple the maximum range of HDMI technology. The WiresCR cables in 20m, 30m and a whopping 50m lengths, open the door for ‘whole-house’ HDMI installations, allowing system integrators and multi-room enthusiast to use HDMI cable over long distances for the first time. No HDMI to Cat-5e / optical conversion – just pure HDMI to HDMI.

“How is that possible?” you may well ask (as did I when I first wrestled a 50m sample from the box). The trick lies in the high-bandwidth V1.3 (see note) compatible construction of the WiresCR HDMI cable and the innovative TECHLINK Passive Repeater. This tiny device, fitted to the display end of the cable, is powered by the HDMI LV power rail so is compact, unobtrusive and does not require an additional power supply.

In conjunction with a single TECHLINK Passive Repeater, TECHLINK’s 20m and 30m WiresCR cables offer full 1080p bandwidth and remain fully compliant with CEC control protocols. The longer 50m WiresCR HDMI cable is guaranteed to 1080i/720p resolution and may achieve 1080p depending on the source equipment.

In keeping with the best-selling and award-winning WiresCR range the extended range models use high-quality oxygen-free copper conductors and low migration FPE (foam polyethylene) insulation. The copper is ultra-heavy gauge construction and extensively shielded to comfortably exceed V1.3 HDMI bandwidth. The cables are terminated in hand finished, high quality gold plated connectors for the ultimate in signal integrity.

For the multi-room and custom-installation market TECHLINK supplies HDMI Control Centres with simultaneous multiplexed outputs in 2-input 4-output and 1-input 8-output configurations. NOTE: WiresCR HDMI cable in standard lengths is certified to V1.3 specification and comfortably exceeds V1.3 bandwidth requirements. However, there is no official certification for ultra-long cables as they fall outside of the HDMI org parameters and do not work as a stand-alone product without a repeater.
